Poker Game or Tea Party?

Eliza helped Daddy set up for his poker game at our house last weekend. She didn't want the guys to be lonely.

See How Our Garden Grows

Our first tomatoes!

Our garden is doing really well! Here we have tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, basil, red and white onions, scallions, rutabagas, marigolds and zinnias. We need to get the trellises up for the climbers this weekend.

Tomatoes, beans, tarragon, Italian parsley, thyme, lettuces, zucchini, cilantro, broccoli and strawberries.

Jalapenos, bell peppers, sage, rosemary, cauliflower, arugula, edamame, baby carrots and beets

We also have mint and lavender in containers.

Eliza's butterfly garden. We planted lantana and vinca and our wildflower seeds are just beginning to sprout. We'll keep you posted on any butterfly sightings!

Our big girl just finished her first year of preschool!

Ice Cream Party!

Eliza's class had an ice cream party to celebrate their last day of class. Mommy and Daddy both came to school to help out with the festivities.

First Strawberry!

Eliza showing off the first strawberry from our garden that we've managed to harvest before the critters got to it.
And, Eliza looking like a particularly scuzzy fairy after assisting Mommy in said garden all afternoon.

Underwear Couture

The hilarity of wearing underwear on your head just never gets old.

Mommy's giant nursing bra and Daddy's underwear make a lovely necklace.

Garden Girl

Sunday, May 3, 2009

We had a few moments between rain storms to get some planting done this weekend.

The seedlings still have a way to go before we move them to the garden. Here we have beans, peas, tomatoes and beets.

The master plan

Eliza was excited to get some flowers planted! She's a whiz with a watering can.

E. looks so much like her Grandma Anne here!

Eliza and Willa love their Yoga Kids DVDs.

Yoga quickly turns wrestling every single time.

It's all fun and games until someone gets a knee in the nose!

New Sandbox

We got a fancy new sandbox today! It's nice and close to the garden so Mommy has something to keep us busy while she digs in the dirt. Our old sandbox is going to be Eliza's new butterfly flower garden!
