Happy Halloween!

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Once cute little witch and a black cat who refused whiskers and ears and insisted on wearing a tutu and witch hat.

Mommy and the ghouls

Audrey was a rock-n-roll black cat and Eliza was a ballerina witch. They believe in being well-rounded.

Willa, who got up at 5:45 am, was completely wiped out by trick-or-treat time. Poor little pumpkin!

It was a very soggy Halloween.

Surveying the haul.

Play Doh Afternoon

Just a typical afternoon at the Schoknecht house...playing with Play Doh, listening to Matisyahu, making silly faces and bold fashion statements.

Sweet Potato Pie!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

Willa discovers that sweet potato pie make a very effective furniture polish.

Pumpkin Patch

We went pumpkin hunting today and Willa insisted on wearing a chicken costume. As far as she's concerned, some days are just best spent in a chicken suit.

Spoooooky!

Blue Ridge Mountains

Paul very bravely took a solo trip with the girls to the Blue Ridge Mountains with some friends of ours and their kids while Mommy had a bunch of law school friends in town for a little reunion. Happily, everyone survived the trip and the girls even slept a bit.

Our gorgeous cabin in the woods (at least for the weekend)

Someone is up WAY past her bedtime!

What are you looking at?!

Pajama Family

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Our annual family pajama portrait for Eliza's classroom wall. Yes, Paul does sleep in that outfit.

Eliza the (Bag) Lady

Eliza in her "lady" outfit. Willa clearly thinks she's a lunatic.

Soccer Buddies

How cute are Eliza and her new soccer friend Luke?!

Dinner Party

Monday, October 5, 2009

While the rest of the kids played downstairs, Willa ate brie and engaged in witty repartee with the grown-ups.

Peek-a-boo!

Sadly, our garden didn't fare as well as our house in the recent flood.

This is what's left of our compost.

Eliza's butterfly garden, part of our compost bin and random toys that floated over from neighbors' flooded backyards.

Soccer Girl!

Eliza had her very first soccer game this weekend! She had a great time and actually kicked the ball once during the game! She also, however, would occasionally wander off the field in the middle of the game looking for snacks. And, yes, the team did change jerseys four times in one hour.
